Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has expressed confidence that Gernot Rohr’s men will advance from the group stage of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt.
The Shanghai Shenhua hitman stated this while reacting to the 2019 AFCON draws that was conducted on Friday night in Cairo.
Nigeria has been drawn against debutants Madagascar and Burundi, with Guinea completing Group B.
The 2019 AFCON will hold from June 21 to July 19.
“It’s still a tough one, no team is a pushover,” Ighalo told Completesports.
“We are going to go through by God’s grace.”
Nigeria will be based in Alexandria during the group phase and begin their AFCON 2019 campaign with a tie against Burundi on June 22, before taking on Guinea [June 26] and Madagascar [June 30] respectively.
